Zusammenfassung
Bei Patienten mit Herzinsuffizienz können aufgrung struktureller und funktioneller Veränderungen auf Vorhofebene supraventrikuläre Herzrhythmusstörungen wie Vorhofflattern und Vorhofflimmern auftreten. Während sich beim Vorhofflattern die Radiofrequenz-Katheterablation als nichtmedikamentöse kurative Therapie bereits mit sehr guten Erfolgsquoten etabliert hat, werden bei medikamentös therapierefraktärem Vorhofflimmern zur Zeit verschiedene, potentiell auch kurative Therapieformen im Rahmen koutrollierter Studien wissenschaftlich untersucht. Die Induktionsmechanismen und die Erfolgsraten der verschiedenen Therapieverfahren sowie Akut- und Spätkomplikationen abgewartet werden, um in der Zukunft für jeden Patienten eine individuell optimierte alternative Therapie einsetzen zu können.
