Summary
The helminth stronglyloides stercolaris is an endemic parasite in the tropical world commonly causing dermatological and gastrointestinal disease. Sporadic cases are uncommon in Britain. We present a case of enteric strongyloides diagnosed at laparotomy in a 52-year-old Caribbean lady, presenting with chronic pseudo-obstruction and weight loss, who had been resident in the United Kingdom for 32 years.
