Symmetrical and asymmetrical reduction in ascomycetes

Summary

InNeurospora sitophila andBombardia lunata asymmetrical post-reduction is more frequent than symmetrical post-reduction. That is to say, when a pair of allelomorphsA anda segregate, the ordersAa Aa andaA aA are commoner thanAa aA andaA Aa. This is not the case inNeurospora crassa.
