Pre-equilibrium analysis of the excitation functions of (α,xn) reactions on silver and holmium

  • Published:
Il Nuovo Cimento A (1965-1970)

Summary

The excitation functions of the109Ag (α, 2n),107Ag(α,2n),109Ag(α,4n),165Ho (α,xn);x=1, …, 4 reactions were studied upto 75 MeV, using the stacked foil activation technique and Ge(Li) gamma-ray spectroscopy method. Of these, four reactions were studied for the first time using high-resolution Ge(Li)/HPGe detector, and sometwenty-three new energy point cross-sections were measured for the first time. A comparison with pre-equilibrium, hybrid model (ALICE/85/300) and the more recent index model was made using the initial exciton numbern o=4 (4p 0h), and a general agreement was found in all the reactions.
