Conclusion
Although there are isolated reports of inhibition of nuclear lobing and drumstick formation in children with mongolism or Down's syndrome (trisomy 21) no parallel study on Indian children is available. It was considered worthwhile to confirm these observations in our population. The data presented above show that similar morphological changes in neutrophils are present in Indian children with this syndrome.
