A simple theory of superconductivity

Summary

It is shown that a system of bosons exhibits the Meissner effect if the quantum fluctuations of the field operators are neglected. This model is applied to the problem of flux quantization in a superconducting cylinder. Corrections due to a finite penetration depth and to an external magnetic field are calculated.

Si dimostra che un sistema di bosoni presenta l’effetto Meissner se si trascurano le fluttuazioni quantiche degli operatori di campo. Si applica questo modello al problema della quantizzazione del flusso in un cilindro superconduttore. Si calcolano le correzioni dovute ad una profondità di penetrazione finita ed ad un campo magnetico esterno.
