On the action and reaction principle in special relativity

Summary

Two forces, due to internal action and reaction, with points of application in relative motion are shown to be different even if they are applied to material points in contact. The action and reaction principle holds, in the case of steady-state, relative motion, if the resultants of the forces acting on each of the two interacting bodies are considered. For a nonsteadystate problem the principle does not hold even for the resultants of the forces.

Si mostra come le forze di interazione che agiscono su due punti materiali in moto relativo possono non essere uguali e contrarie anche nell’istante in cui i due punti vengono a contatto. Il principio di azione e reazione vale invece se consideriamo il caso di moto relativo stazionario e confrontiamo i risultanti delle forze di interazione. Nel caso non stazionario tale principio non sussiste nemmeno per i risultanti.

Показывается, что две силы с точками приложения при относительном движении оказываются различными из-за внутреннего действия и противодействия, даже если они приложены к материальным точкам, находящимся в контакте. Принцип действия и противодействия справедлив в случае стационарного относительного движения, если рассматриваются равнодействующие сил, лействующих на каждое из двух взаимодействующих тел. В случае нестационарной проблемы рассматриваемый принцип не справедлив даже для равнодействуущих сил.
