Abstract

This is an experimental study to investigate the feasibility of employing fuzzysets theory in an integrated machine-fault diagnostic system. This system consists of modules for data acquisition, data processing, features extraction, fault clustering and fault assignment. Among these tasks, fault clustering and fault assignment are accomplished using fuzzy-sets-based procedures. The theoretical foundation of this study is discussed, with case studies.
