Summary

In this paper, the transient thermal stress problem for an orthotropic thin plate with a Griffith crack perpendicular to the surfaces of the plate is considered. It is assumed that the transient thermal stress is set up by the application of heat flux to the surfaces of the crack and the heat exchange by convection on the surfaces of the plate. The analytical solution is found by Airy stress function. Numerical results indicate a dependence of the orthotropic stress intensity factors on the thermal and elastic constants over a certain parameter range.

Übersicht

Betrachtet wird das Problem transienter Wärmespannungen in einer dünnen, orthotropen Platte mit einem Griffith-Riß, der senkrecht zu den Plattenlaibungen angeordnet ist. Es wird angenommen, daß die transiente Wärmespannung erzeugt wird durch einen Wärmefluß über die Rißoberflächen und durch Wärmeaustausch an den Plattenoberflächen infolge Konvektion. Die analytische Lösung wird mit Hilfe der Airyschen Spannungsfunktion gewonnen. Die numerischen Ergebnisse zeigen, daß die orthotropen Spannungsintensitätsfaktoren in einem bestimmten Parameterbereich von den thermischen und elastischen Konstanten abhängen.
