Die Temperatur der vorderen Augenabschnitte bei Kryotherapie der Hornhaut

Summary

In experimental cryothermy the thermical effects on the cornea of the rabbit's eye were measured at the surface of cornea and conjunctiva as well as in the middle of the anterior chamber and in the angle of anterior chamber. By application of −20, −40 and −60°C (diameter of the applicator-syringe 1,4 mm) for 5, 10 and 15 sec resp. the degree of the resulting cooling in all of these points allowed to exclude a damage of healthy tissues of the yee. Essential cryogenic side-effects of the cryotherapy of the cornea thus may be avoided by choosing the exact dosage of the applicated low temperatures.

Zusammenfassung

Am Kaninchenauge wurden bei der experimentellen Kryothermie der Hornhaut die resultierenden thermischen Effekte an der Oberfläche von Hornhaut und Bindehaut sowie in Vorderkammermitte und im Kammerwinkel gemessen. Bei der Applikation (Durchmesser der Applikatorspitze 1,4 mm) von −20, −40 und −60°C für jeweils 5, 10 und 15 sec bewegte sich die resultierende Abkühlung in allen gewählten Meßpunkten in einer Größenordnung, die eine Schädigung gesunder Augengewebe ausschließen dürfte. Bei exakter Dosierung der applizierten tiefen Temperaturen sind somit wesentliche kryogene Nebenwirkungen bei der Kryotherapie der Hornhaut nicht zu erwarten.
