Anticholinergic drug action on pancreatic exocrine outflow in man and dog

Summary

The endogenous secretin mechanism in dogs and in man is very sensitive to low concentrations of anticholinergic drugs. The release of secretin may be blocked by very small doses of these anticholinergic drugs, but once secretin gets into the bloodstream, its action can only be partially blocked by very large concentrations of the anticholinergic drugs.
