Reduction of CuO-containing catalysts, CuO: II, XRD and XPS

Abstract

In-situ X-ray diffraction (XRD) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) have been used to follow the reduction of Ultrapure CuO. XRD confirms the report [2] that CO reduction of CuO is faster and more extensive than with hydrogen, but shows that there is no measurable formation of crystalline Cu2O as an intermediate in this process.

Восстановление ультрачистой CuO исследовали с помощью рентгеновской спектроскопии (PC) и рентгеновской фотоэлектронной спектроскопии (PфЭC) in-situ. PC подтверждает то заключение, что восстановление CuO с помощью CO протекает быстрее и интенсивнее, чем с водородом. Однако, не было обнаружено измеряемого образования кристаллической Cu2O в качестве промежуточного продукта процесса.
