Zusammenfassung

  1. 1.

    Die Angaben von van Dyke und Wallen-Lawrence, betreffend die biologische Prüfung des Hypophysenwachstumshormons in kurzdauernden Versuchen, wurden bestätigt.

  2. 2.

    Es erwiesen sich für diese Zwecke Rattenweibchen geeigneter als Männchen.

  3. 3.

    Die Reaktion der Tiere auf Wachstumshormon ist spezifisch; Thymocrescin gibt sie nicht.

  4. 4.

    Es wurden Handelspräparate auf ihr Gehalt an Wachstumsprinzip geprüft. Von den fünf untersuchten Präparaten erwiesen sich vier unwirksam.
