Fragmente von Beinimaginalscheiben regenerieren nicht, wenn sie in restriktiv ernährten Wirten kultiviert werden, wo Proliferation unterdrückt wird. Die Regenerationshemmung ist reversibel, da solche Fragmente in gut ernährten Wirtslarven normal regenerieren.
