Eine portable Strontium-90-Strahlenquelle in Verbindung mit einem Scribner-Shunt erlaubt am Menschen die Bestrahlung des extrakorporal zirkulierenden Blutes und bewirkt innerhalb von 18 Tagen eine selektive Lymphocytenverminderung auf etwa ein Drittel der Ausgangsnorm.
Summary
A portable strontium-90-beta-ray-source attached to an arterio-venous shunt allows the effectiv irradiation of the circulating blood and the selective destruction of 2/3 of the peripheral lymphocytes within 18 days.
