Abstract
The polarization properties cf second order nonlinear acousto-optical effect in semiconductors are investigated by the symmetry consideration. The scattering tensor of the process is derived in terms of the Clebsh-Gordon coefficients of the crystalline symmetry group. As an example a semiconductor with zinc-blende structure is studied.
