Evoked potentials in the neocortical projection areas of dogs trained for a short-delay, defensive instrumental conditioned reflex

Conclusions

  1. 1.

The elaboration of a short-delay (altogether 1 sec) defensive instrumental conditioned reflex leads to complex and synchronous changes in the EP structure in the cortical projections of the stimuli being paired, after the first click in the series of conditional stimuli.

  2. 2.

The changes in EP structure which result from the first click-several alternating, very late, positive-negative waves-almost totally fall within the latency period of the conditioned motor response (700–900 msec).
