Abstract
The syntheses of piperazine-substituted isoquinoline derivatives, the piperazine being attached to the isoquinoline component either by a CH2-bridge in positions 1 or 3 or by a CO-bridge in positions 1, 2 and 3, are reported. The 1-[4-methyl-piperazinyl-(1)methyl]-6,7-dimethoxy-3,4-dihydroisoquinoline (VII), obtained by the method ofBischler andNapieralski, was more thoroughly investigated in view to its easy oxidizability, and to its dehydrogenation and hydrogenation.
