Abstract
In recent years a new kind of cable-stayed conveyance structure is widely used in irrigation areas in China. With a large crossing capacity, it is appropriate for some specific topography, convenient to construct, and more economical in comparison with the ordinary conveyance structure supported by piers. In this paper three cable-stayed aqueducts and a cable-stayed inverted siphon with different structure systems, arrangements of cables and super-structures will be presented. According to the project practice and experimental research, some information about selection of structure system, component configurations, cable and end fittings, static analysis and wind-resistant design will also be presented.
