Problems of the theory of deformation of polymeric materials

  • Published:
Polymer Mechanics Aims and scope

Abstract

The principal phenomenological theories of the mechanics of deformable solids forming the basis for the calculation of the strength and deformability of various groups of polymeric materials are reviewed. The behavior of rigid and soft rubbery polymers and viscoplastics and reinforced polymeric materials is considered together with the mathematical description of their deformation processes. Certain guide lines are laid down for future research.
