Summary

Small bowel disaccharidase activities in the small intestine (lactase, cellobiase, trehalase, sucrase, maltase) were determined in 15 persons with different dermatoses in peroral biopsy specimens from the jejunum by the method of Dahlquist. The specimens were obtained with a small bowel biopsy tube. The site of biopsy was determined by x-rays to 20 cm past the ligament of Treitz. 20 normal persons were examined as control group and the results were compared with help of the t-Student test. We did not find statistically significant differences with the exception of cellobiase, where the level was 5%. In one patient with parapsoriasis varioliformis and in another with reticulosis lipomelanotica, lactase deficiency was found, and in one patient with mycosis fungoides of 2nd degree a border value of lactase activity was determined.
