Zusammenfassung
Bei 111 Kranken wurden unter EEG-Kontrolle 122 calorische Labyrinthreizungen vorgenommen. Bei organisch Hirnkranken war die Art der Wirkung durch die Lokalisation des Prozesses und durch den Charakter der jeweiligen spontanen Tätigkeit bedingt. Da die Labyrinthreizung die durch Rindenschädigung bedingte abnorme Tätigkeit nicht beeinflußt, während sie eine durch subcorticalen Herd bedingte pathologische Aktivität oft auffallend verändert, kann sie für die Prozeßlokalisation verwertet werden.
Bei einem Teil der Epileptiker bewirkt die Labyrinthreizung eine Unterdrückung der paroxysmalen Wellen, bei anderen jedoch (vor allem bei Epileptikern mit temporalem Herd) eine Steigerung. Die Labyrinth-Kalorisierung vermag auch bei normaler elektrischer Hirntätigkeit einen epileptogenen Herd zu aktivieren.
Die Rolle der Formatio reticularis in der Übertragung der Labyrinthreize und die Repräsentation des Vestibularsystems im Schläfenlappen werden besprochen.
