Summary
The fertility character of donor cells is located in two different sites on the chromosome, producing two transfer regions. The direction of the transfer is identical for the two regions. During transfer the fertility genes are the leading elements of the transferred molecules.
The position of the genes of each region can be localized according to their transfer sequence, the gradient of transfer being the highest for proximal genes. The distal part of each transfer region overlaps into the proximal part of the other one, indicating circularity of the chromosome.
