Abstract

A research project of DGFI comprised the objective of separating sea level trends recorded by tide gauges around the North Atlantic from vertical crustal movements to be determined by GPS. A review of available global network solutions including the selected sites reveals differences of up to several mm/yr between the various estimates of vertical velocities. Therefore, a dedicated analysis aiming at improving the accuracy of the height component is performed. It comprises the uniform processing of several one week data sets between 1994 and 2000. The results are discussed in this paper.
