Abstract
The paper presents an extension of the classical ATMS framework aimed to render it the capability to model time and action. This extension emerged from our efforts to deal with time-dependent models and non-intermittent faults in model-based diagnosis. The assumptions are considered to be committed forever, but the ATMS provides a built-in way of representing the world at different time points, allowing the problem-solver to reason about change.
