Abstract

Mobile services are now widely available to Indian farmers and other agriculture stakeholders. These services are providing a range of functionality from access to market prices and climate services. This paper presents an overview of various services available as mobile apps which are using Big Data and IoT technologies. This paper provides findings from a survey of mobile application services which are available to India agricultural sector stakeholders. The mobile applications where categorized in various service types and assessments made of the type of functionality provided and proportion of apps providing each service category. The paper also addresses the strengths and weaknesses of these services and draw conclusion sand the future trends in the availability of these mobile app services.
