Abstract
In this study, the authors estimate the position and the velocity of a mobile terminal using only Cell-ID as input data. Unlike finger prints methods, Cell-IDs are considered as sequences and matched using a modification of Longest Common Subsequece. The study covered 693 bus stops in Ho Chi Minh City and collected 73813 transition samples as training data. 86% of the test cases in velocity estimation has error within 5 km/h. This project uses bus stops as landmarks, but can be generalized using any set of annotated landmarks.
