Definition
In the last years, the population has shown great concern about the irrational use of the planet’s natural resources. It has been the focus of discussions in business, government, and academia. In this scenario, real-time water monitoring plays an important role in preventing resource scarcity, managing water quality and hydric resource levels, preventing and warning against floods.

Population has shown, recently, great concern about the irrational use of the planet’s natural resources. This concern has been the focus of discussions in business, government, and academia. In this scenario, educational institutions stand out in the elaboration of new methods, projects, and campaigns that aim a better environmental management over such resources and that can bring benefits to society (Tauchen and Brandli 2010; De Marco et al. 2006).
