Definition
The Human-Biometric Sensor Interaction (HBSI) focuses on the interaction between the user and the biometric system in order to understand the individual details that take place during this time. This includes the detection and classification of both user and system errors.
Introduction
The Human-Biometric Sensor Interaction model was established in 2004, the foundation stemming from research previously done in the field of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), experimenters’ observations, and the need to improve the usability of biometric systems. While many of the efforts in the advancements of biometrics involved improvements to the technology in terms of hardware or algorithms, HBSI concerns itself with the interaction of the human and the biometric system.
