Abstract
In writing about city performance in the context of globalization Daniel Kaufmann and two co-authors (2006) observed that there is a virtual absence of data and empirically based treatment on the subject of globalization of cities. After reviewing the existing literature they took the theoretical underpinnings of a definition from the work of Doel and Hubbard (2002) to define the concept of “globalized city as a place”.
