Use of Bayesian Belief Networks for risk management in energy distribution

Probabilistic Safety Assessment and Management

Abstract

We present the use of Bayesian Belief Networks (BBN) for risk management in power industry, especially risk assessment and risk mapping. We present a specific definition of risk, then, an application to the risk management of a gas and electricity distribution center. A risk map is elaborated, based on the risk analysis and the Bayesian network. We conclude the poster with the advantages and limitations of this approach.
