ULE Link Layer Security for DVB Networks

  • Conference paper
IP Networking over Next-Generation Satellite Systems
  • 507 Accesses

The MPEG-2 standard supports a range of transmission methods for a range of services. This document provides a security solution at the link layer using the Unidirectional Lightweight Encapsulation. It describes the SATIPSec key management protocol and its adaptation for DVB-RCS networks to provide security at the ULE level. Also the forward link signalling risks are analyzed and a possible security solution has been proposed.
