Named in honor of Len Beadell, surveyor at Salisbury, South Australia. The last of the geographical explorers of the Australian outback, Beadell laid out more than 6,000 km of graded track, including the well-known “Gun Barrel Highway”, through the most remote regions of Australia. (M 11748)
