Field camera versus phantom-based measurement of the gradient system transfer function (GSTF) with dwell time compensation
2020, Magnetic Resonance ImagingCitation Excerpt :Imperfections of the dynamic gradient system hardware lead to a loss in fidelity of the gradient waveforms during MR imaging. Imperfections can be caused by limitations in gradient amplifiers, coupling of gradient channels, vibration, and small timing inaccuracies, such that the nominal gradient waveform prescribed in the pulse sequence is not achieved on the scanner hardware [1–6]. Trapezoidal gradient waveforms used in standard Cartesian imaging are mainly affected by a constant time delay [28].
Proton MRS and MRSI of the brain without water suppression
2015, Progress in Nuclear Magnetic Resonance SpectroscopyCitation Excerpt :The modulus method has some disadvantages. Theoretically, the SNR of the modulus signal loses 40% as compared with the phase signal; however, the apparent loss is only about 20% in practice [59,66]. A possible explanation of this positive observation is that the modulus operation also corrects for the effects of eddy currents [59].
